If a Letter Before Action from our debt collection solicitors does not prompt the Debtor to make payment proposals, our debt recovery solicitors can help you continue to recover your debt by issuing Court proceedings against the Debtor. For more on what's involved at Stage 2, please click here.
If there has been no response to Stage 1 (Letter Before Action) we can issue a claim with the County Court on your behalf.
The Court fee and a proportion of our fee is recoverable from the Debtor if your claim is successful. We will also add statutory, contractual or late payment interest and compensation (if applicable) to the debt amount.
The Court will serve the Claim and we will notify you when your Claim has been issued. The Debtor will have 14 days to respond.
If the debt is due from a limited company, our debt collection solicitors will check their current business status before we issue any Court proceedings. The cost will depend on the size of the debt.Either way our debt collection solicitors will help guide you through the process.
